A ‘health pass’ (pass santaire) is currently necessary for anyone staying at UCPA centres

The health pass consists of the presentation (digital or paper) of one of the following supporting documents:

  • A vaccination with a complete vaccination schedule against Covid-19;

  • Or the result of a negative PCR or antigen test less than 24 hours before arrival at the centre;

  • Or the result of a positive PCR or antigen test attesting to recovery from Covid-19, dating at least 11 days and less than 6 months.

Please see here for details on the precautions being taken. This includes procedures before and during your stay.

Then you will be offered a credit note in the first instance, with the option to request a refund*. We will deal with these on a 35 day before travel rolling basis only. If the quarantine is lifted but then reintroduced and your trip is within 35 days, you will still be eligible for a cancellation voucher/refund*.

Please note we will only contact customers if the UK government applies/maintains quarantine. For customers of other countries (address you booked with), please keep an eye on your travel restrictions and contact us at 35 days before travel if there is an advisory against travel or quarantine.

My balance is now due, should I pay it?

If you do not pay your balance by the due date then your holiday will be cancelled and you will lose any deposit already paid.

What if I have to travel via another country that restricts my travel, e.g. change of flights, transiting another border?

If your home country (address you booked with) and France are both open for travel then you would need to make other travel arrangements.

My flight/travel arrangements have been cancelled, can I have a refund?

If the travel has been organised via a third party then you would need to contact them or make a claim on your holiday insurance.

What if I have symptoms of COVID before I am due to travel?

Then you should seek medical advice in your own country, which will almost certainly mean self-isolation. You should make a claim on your holiday insurance.

What if I have been asked to self isolate before I am due to travel?

You should make a claim on your holiday insurance.

What if I develop symptoms of COVID whilst on holiday?

Ask the centre staff in the first instance and then follow local medical protocol.

I’m not very sure about travel during these times and would like to cancel?

Normal cancellation terms & conditions would apply.

Why are UCPA offering a credit note?

UCPA is a not-for-profit organisation and as such need to manage their finances very carefully. You will be offered a credit note in the first instance, however you will have the option to take a refund* instead.

I’m thinking of delaying my trip to later in the winter, can I move my existing booking?

If the UK travel restrictions remain in place at 35 days before travel then at that point you will have the chance to take a credit note and rebook another date. Any changes made prior to that will be according to standard terms & conditions.

What if vaccines become essential between booking my trip and the trip taking place?

At the moment, to enter UCPA centres in France you must present either a negative test or a vaccination certificate, to enter France as a tourist, you need to be vaccinated (more here). We envision that this will be standard practice for the foreseeable future, so by booking a trip you are accepting the current 'health pass' entry requirements and we will not be able to issue refunds based on a refusal of this.

If vaccines were to become compulsory we imagine there would be a large time gap between the policy changes being announced and being implemented. If you need to cancel because of this then please see our cancellation policy. Cancelling due to this policy change would be subject to our standard cancellation terms and conditions.

These policies are set by the French government and not by UCPA or Action Outdoors.

And for groups on contracts?

For those who have signed (or are signing) a group contract (such as military, schools, large groups of friends or corporate). Please contact our groups department to find out your specific terms and conditions.

*£20 admin fee + payment transaction fee applies to each refund per person per booking.

We are members of ABTA, and have been for almost the whole of Action Outdoors' existence. With 70 of years of experience, your holiday is financially secure.

As many of you are aware, we refunded everyone who had their trip cancelled due to the lockdown in France. Not many tour operators did this, and many are in still disputing refunding their customers.

We will continue to operate with our customers' best interests at the forefront of what we do. Our terms and conditions have not changed, our cancellation policy also has not changed.

The relationship between Actions Outdoors and its customers is of utmost importance. We will uphold the highest of standards, even during the most challenging of times.
